The world is changing. Globalization and unprecedented technological advance are bringing huge opportunities for growth. At the same time we face complex social challenges. With an ever rising population, how do we manage resources like food, water and energy?  How do we take care of our elderly, and how do we prepare against natural disasters?

This talk will introduce Fujitsu, Fujitsu Laboratories of America and our vision for a human centric intelligent society that addresses the above challenges. To realize our vision, Fujitsu wants to use the power of ICT to harness knowledge generated in today’s hyper-connected world to make better judgments and empower people to innovate. The talk with then focus on a specific example of smart energy and how Fujitsu solutions and research are transforming the landscape of energy production and consumption leading to more a safer, prosperous and sustainable society which fits well with the Universal Village theme.
